Footnotes
First Streisand solo album, recorded January 23-25, 1963 in Columbia's Studio A.
- Nearly titled Sweet and Saucy Streisand, the studio LP was released instead of an intended live album, which was recorded at the Bon Soir in NY, Nov. 5-7, 1962. Eight songs later included on Just For The Record...
Hank Parker snapped the cover photo during a Bon Soir performance.
- Barbra remembers in Just For The Record: "The most important thing about that first contract - actually, the thing we held out for - was a unique clause giving me the right to choose my own material. It was the only thing I really cared about. I still received lots of pressure from the label to include some contemporary "pop" hits on my first album, but I held out for the songs that really meant something to me."
- Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best Female Vocal Performance (for the
album), Album Cover
(non-classical) - John Berg
- Digitally restored/remastered CD released.
- Grammy Hall of Fame selection, January 2006
- BB: 4-13-63 / 101 / #8 || G, 10/16/64
