- American Movie Classics Magazine, January 1999 - "Nice To Have You Back" is magazine editor Katharine Whittemore's 3-page cover story on Hello, Dolly!'s 30th anniversary year. Subscriptions and individual issues available directly from AMC only.
- Good Housekeeping magazine, February 1999 - "Hollywood Love Stories" cover story begins with a striking cover photo of Barbra & Jim kneeling at Brolin's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. Comprising portions of two pages, including a cool color photo of the two arriving for the '97 Oscars, the article covers four recently married celebrity couples. Barbra & Jim were not interviewed for this piece.
- In Style magazine, February 1999 - "Celebrity Weddings" cover story includes a special feature on Barbra and Jim's wedding. "A Wedding Planned with a Director's Eye" by Barbra Streisand is a 10-page collection of wedding photos, several previously unpublished, and the bride's recollections on the setting, flowers, her dress, and even some morning uncertainty. Candidly, she admits, "That day was so nerve-racking, I can't tell you...With my heart beating a mile a minute, I went into the shower, put on the steam, and said, 'There is nothing more I can doso let go and let God.' All my tensions dissolved...it was as if they flowed down the drainit was amazing." Barbra also shows us her wedding dress sketches and, after reflecting on her final choice, says "I looked familiar to myself--like my character in Funny Girl." - Fortune magazine, June 21, 1999 - "Barbra Streisand's Latest Role: Stock Picker" is an exclusive interview feature in which Barbra discusses and candidly reveals her common sense approach to buying stocks, which include tech companies America Online, Amazon.com, and eBay. And, yes, she does awaken at 6:30 a.m. to check the market. The complete article is available online via the above link.
- Newsweek magazine, June 28, 1999 (street date: 6/21) - "Those 'Terrible Stories'" is
Barbra Streisand's remembrance of her working relationship with Funny Girl director William Wyler and cinematographer Harry Stradling. The short piece is part of the "A Cultural Revolution: 1964-1980" section of a five-part cover feature called "Voices Of The Century." Elizabeth Taylor is pictured on the cover.
- People magazine, July 5, 1999 (street date: 6/25) - "Weddings of the Year" includes a one-page, one-year anniversary remembrance of Streisand & Brolin's wedding with the newlyweds' first photographed kiss and new comments from Marvin Hamlisch, Jay Landers, and Josh Brolin.

- The Advocate, August 17, 1999 (street date: 7/20) - A Q&A with Barbra Streisand is the cover feature in the national gay & lesbian newsmagazine's special summer double issue focusing on "Our Best and Brightest Activists." Barbra answered the magazine's written questions on a range of topics, including equal rights for gays and lesbians, the battle for same-sex marriage, the continuing need for AIDS activism, gays in the military, and her relationship with son Jason Gould.
- People magazine, September 20, 1999 (street date: 9/10) - "Baubles, Bangles, Babs" in the "Scoop" section features a half-page article on Barbra's upcoming Christie's jewelry and furniture, etc. auctions, with small photos of three striking jewelry pieces and a full-page grinning photo of Barbra wearing a familiar necklace which isn't for sale.
- Woman's Day magazine, Australia, October 11, 1999 - Excerpts and photo from Richard Wilkins' interview with Barbra Streisand in Malibu in mid-September. The interview was telecast on Australian TV's Today and Entertainment Tonight programs at the end of September.
McCall's magazine, December 1999 (street date: 10/28-11/4/99) - "The Luckiest People in the World" is a terrific 6-page profile of Barbra and Jim Brolin, including a very candid and engaging exclusive interview. Mr. & Mrs. Brolin are featured on the cover and in three additional pictures, one newly published. Marvin Hamlisch also speaks: "I think that for a long time, when Barbra used to sing love songs, the person she was singing them to had no face. Now the person she sees is clearly Jim, and it gives greater depth, greater meaning to her performance." About their first "blind date" (they actually knew they were meeting each other), Barbra says, "Once we sat down and started to speak, that was it. George Foreman was sitting on my right, and I really wanted to talk to him about his grill--I love that thing--but I never did say more than four words to him." Barbra and Jim discuss the first awkward days of their courtship and their subsequent relationship. A must-read. The magazine's Web site (use above link) has an excerpt.
- Christie's Magazine, November 1999 - "Barbra Streisand: The Passionate Collector" is a five-page interview with Christie's New York Editor Angus Wilkie about the formation of Streisand's amazing American Arts and Crafts collection and her decision to sell. Another article, "Highlight Memories," previews the December 2 Christie's auction of Barbra Streisand's personal property, with some color photographs, one of Barbra's dark brown velvet dress from The Mirror Has Two Faces.
