Barbra Streisand, The Concert, 1994Barbra Streisand has performed music live for audiences many times since her debut, singing "A Sleepin' Bee" and "When Sunny Gets Blue" at The Lion's talent contest on June 6, 1960. The vast majority of her live performances occurred in the 1960s before and during her early film career. Eventually, singing live would be uncomfortable for Barbra, and she virtually ceased all public performances in 1972. Except for a few benefit concerts in the intervening period, Barbra made a triumphant return to live performance in 1994 when she followed two wonderful New Year's Eve concerts with an enormously successful six-city tour. She revisited her early days and brought everyone up to date in her Timeless show, which debuted in Las Vegas on Millennium Eve and then visited Australia, L.A., and New York to close out 2000. Barbra returned to concerts in 2006 with 20 North American shows and took virtually the same show to Europe for 10 concerts in 2007. The following is a thoroughly researched, comprehensive listing of Barbra Streisand's career public, private, and benefit concert and club dates. Performances excerpted or officially released in their entirety on CD or home video/DVD are noted in boldface, and selected RealAudio clips are provided. Excluded are Barbra's television studio performances and two Broadway musicals.
