Tracks 1, 2, 4 & 5 specially recorded for this album. Track 4 was recorded on September 12, 1973, with Marvin Hamlisch conducting the orchestra, and rush-released as a single the same month (Barbra's very first #1 single).

2nd Streisand album to reach #1 on charts, March 1974.

Grammy Award: Song of the Year ("The Way We Were") to Marvin Hamlisch and Alan & Marilyn Bergman (no nominations for Barbra).

Quadraphonic LP also released (out of print), with alternate version of track 4 (different vocal take on ending).

Reissued January 29, 2002 with original LP art and titles restored. Remastered from the original master tapes by Stephen Marcussen, 2001.
