Footnotes
- Film soundtrack songs 1-11 recorded in London, early 1982.
- Tracks 12 and 13 recorded in L.A., 1983, produced by Phil Ramone & Dave Grusin
and arranged & conducted by Grusin, along with unreleased pop versions of "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" and "A Piece Of
Sky."
- Barbra remembers in Just For The Record: "Michel Legrand, Marilyn & Alan Bergman, and I put together an audition tape of their score to help studio executives understand the project more fully. Yentl finally came out in 1983 and was the fulfillment of a fifteen-year dreamproof that 'nothing is impossible.'"
- On songs representing Yentl's interior monologue, Barbra says, "We worried at first about how audiences would react to this device, but
there really was no better way to reveal's Yentl's unique perspective."
- Alan Bergman observed, "I don't know anyone who writes better for
Barbra's voice than Michel. He flies at the same altitude, he takes
chances."
- Digitally restored/remastered CD released.
